Ajax coach Ronald Koeman was refreshinglycandid after watching his side draw 1-1 with Valencia, admitting that his team were lucky to get a point.

‘The only moment when I thought that we could win was after Ibrahimovic’s goal,’ he said, in reference to Ajax’s goal a minute from time.

“Until that moment, I was pleased not to concede a goal,’ he acknowledged. ‘We have been lucky tonight.”

“Weÿwere notÿable to play our usual football, because Valencia did not allow us to think about what we could do, with such a constant attack.”

Valencia coach Rafael Benitezÿfelt that but for an inspired performance by Australian keeper Joey Didulica, his side would have won the game.

“The Ajax goalkeeper is the only reason we have not won tonight,” Benitez said.

“We have done the right things to secure a victory, but we have met an incredibly on-form Didulica.”
