Arsenal have been fined £10,000 and handed a suspended transfer ban for dealing with an unlicensed agent, the Football Association has confirmed.

The charge came after Arsenal admitted using an unlicenced agent when negotiating to sign the Dutch striker Quincy Owusu-Abeyie.

The ban has been suspended for a period of two years starting on February 1.

If Arsenal are found guilty of using unlicenced agents in the next two year, a ban on all transfers will be activated for the duration of the next transfer window.
