Russia playmaker Andrei Arshavin has confirmed that he wishes to leave UEFA Cup winners Zenit St Petersburg.
“I would like to move to another club,” Arshavin told journalists, after Russia’s national team met with President Dmitry Medvedev.
Arshavin was one of the players of the tournament at Euro 2008, where he helped Russia reach the semi-finals.
Reports in Russia claimed Barcelona had made a bid for him last week, but Arshavin remained coy on the subject.
“It’s hard for me to say, it depends on a lot of things. So far, there’s nothing concrete,” he said.
