Spain coach Luis Aragones has been given a vote of confidence by the national football federation despite his team having lost two of their opening three Group F Euro 2008 qualifiers.

Federation president Angel Maria Villar said Aragones “would see his contract through to the end”.

“The team still has a chance to qualify (for Euro 2008),” said Villar Monday. “I think that the coach must see out his contract.”

Aragones has been under pressure since Spain’s second round World Cup exit, and subsequent defeats in Euro 2008 qualifiers against Northern Ireland and Sweden have increase speculation about his position.
