Bayern Munich and the German Football League (DFL) issued a joint statement to confirm that their dispute over a marketing deal has been resolved.

The two parties have been involved in a row over secret contract between Bayern and the KirchMedia group whereby Bayern would collect €21.5 million eurosfor television rights, on top of television money shared among all the clubs via a central marketing agreement.

The dispute intensified when the DFL condemned Bayern’s attitude as “morally reprehensible”.

In today’s statement the DFL described those words as “unfortunate”.

During the crisis, the club’s figurehead Franz Beckenbauer threatened to pull Bayern out of the Bundesliga and spoke of joining Italy’s Serie A. However, Bayern have subsequently withdrawn the threatt and agreed to resume its collaboration with the DFL.
