Angel Cappa has resigned as manager from Racing Club in Argentina saying that the demand for success from both the press and fans made his job “unbearable”.

“There’s too much pressure from the media in Argentine football,” he said.

Cappa, who was insulted by fans after his side’s 0-0 draw with Arsenal, said: “There’s a total mediocrity and I even ask myself whether those fans who insulted have not been sent by somebody who wants me to leave.”

Racing Club are one of the countries most supported club but are current 11 in the league, which has already been won by Boca Juniors.
