Juventus are ready to go on the attack as they look to cement a place in the knock out stages of the Champions League.
With Zlatan Ibrahimovic suspended following his Matchday 4 sending-off against Bayern Munich, Alessandro Del Piero will replace the Swede in an ambitios “four-man” front attack.
“We won’t be playing with an attacking trident,” he said. “We will play with four – Del Piero, David Trezeguet, Pavel Nedved and Mauro Camoranesi. All four have attacking qualities that they will use to maximum effect.”
“It is going to be a tough game,” Capello added. “They have good players. Their captain, Gert Verheyen, is dangerous, Bosko Balaban scares me because he has a good shot, and Javier Portillo is fast and a real goal poacher. Their midfield is also very strong.”
By contrast, Club Brugge have nothing to lose. Back-to-back victories over Rapid Vienna have guaranteed them a lace in the UEFA Cup so the pressure is off, although coach Jan Ceulemans refuses to relax.
“In this game, you can never take it easy,” he said.
“We know we are safe [in terms of UEFA Cup qualification] but we are not playing without motivation. Now we are in this position, we want more. In football, anything is possible so we will be trying our hardest to progress in this competition.”
Ceulemans welcomes back Philippe Clement, Verheyen and Rune Lange after lengthy lay-offs. They are expected to line up in a 3-5-2 formation, with Lange or Balaban partnering Portillo in attack.
