Jose Mourinho is taking a close interest in Toulouse young defender Lucien Aubey.

The French under-21 international has caught the eye of The Blues’ continental scouting network following a string of fine performances this season.

Aubey can play anywhere across the back four and is said to be one of the brightest young talents in Ligue 1.

Aubey recently signed a new contract which will keep him at Toulouse until 2009 and is in no hurry to leave the French outfit. But, interest from Chelsea is likely to turn the young defender’s head, especially if they follow up their initial interest.

It is likely that Chelsea will face competition from two French sides and an Italian club, but armed with Roman Abramovich’s millions, it is the Londoners’ who are most likely to tempt Toulouse to consider selling.
