Goal scoring goalkeeper Jose Chilavert has said that he intends to leave Penarol when his contract expires.

“I will be leaving Penarol, I have already decided that,” he said.

“I am going to give some time to my family to have some rest and then I will decide what I will do in the future.”

The infamous goalkeeper has scored four goals in 14 stars for the club, two from the penalty spot and two free kicks.

Chilavert would not comment on whether he would be giving up football completely. He has reputedly been given offers from Velez and from the seemingly popular, money-spinning, ex-international’s retirement home that is Qatar.
