Cristian Chivu is expected to move from Roma to Internazionale within the next few days.
Negotiations between the two clubs appeared to have collapsed just a few days ago, but are now reportedly back on track with an agreement being reached to take the Romanian defender to the Nerazzurri for a fee of €15m.
The Romanian defender was set to join Real Madrid earlier this moth but the deal collapsed when the player failed to agree personal terms.
Spanish media said the Madrid club had offered the defender a gross salary of €5.2m a year. However, acccording to reports in Italy, Chivu has acccepted a wage cut to join Inter and will receive €4.5m a year at his new club.
