FIFA has unviled its shortlist for this year’s Player of the Year award.

Last year’s winner Ronaldinho has again be nominated, along with runners-up Frank Lampard and Samuel Eto’o.

Italy’s World Cup winning captain Fabio Cannavaro and France international Thierry Henry, who reached the Champions League and World Cup finals last season, are the favourites to claim this year’s award.

The head coaches and captains of all national teams will now vote for their best players from the shortlist. The prize will be awarded in Zurich on 18 December.
