The football focus is switched this weekend to another set of World Cup qualifiers, including Holland v Scotland and Portugal v Sweden.

Genoa president Enrico Preziosi has claimed Tottenham Hotspur’s reported £10million bid for Diego Milito would only be enough to buy the striker’s ear.

Milito has been linked with a move away from Stadio Luigi Ferraris, with Spurs and Serie A leaders Inter reported to be interested parties.

However, Genoa have no intention of selling the Argentina striker, who has scored 16 goals for the club this season.

“Milito has already refused Tottenham in the past,” Preziosi said. “They offered him a lot more than Genoa ever could.

“The £10million bid from Spurs is ridiculous. For that figure I would only give an English club the ear of Milito.”
