With the World Cup only 9 months away Germany coach Jurgen Klinsmann says he will not alter his plans despite Saturday’s poor performance against Turkey.

The 2006 World Cup hosts went down 2-1 in Istanbul but that scoreline barely reflected Turkey’s dominance.

“The first half especially was nothing,” said Klinsmann.

“The co-ordination between the midfield players and the defenders just didn’t work at all and the Turks should have been two or three goals up at half time.

“Of course I got a bit loud during the break, but we are not going to change our ambition of winning the World Cup next year as that would send out all the wrong signals.

”If we did we would be telling the team that we no longer believe in them.”

Klinsmann said he is prepared to accept criticism, but remains confident that his team will turn things around by next summer.

“The current criticism is justified, but we won’t be burying our heads in the sand,” he concluded.
