A state prosecutor has charged the president of the Greek football federation (EPO) Vassilis Gagatsis with forgery and breach of faith over building contracts.

Gagatsis is the fifth memeber of the EPO, to face the same charges.

The charges relate to the construction of training centres in the Greek cities of Florina, Xanthi and Agios Cosmas in southern Athens.

EPO issued a statement on Thursday denying the charges.

“The charges that have been made will certainly not stand up in court,” it said.
