Hearts chief executive Chris Robinson was attacked outside the Edinburgh club’s Tynecastle ground.

The incident took place after Robinson returned from a meeting of the Scottish Premier League which approved Hearts’s decsion to quit their Tynecastle ground in favour of a move to Murrayfield, the home of Scottish rugby union.

Police said Robinson was met by a group of men, one of whom punched him.

The aim of Hearts scheme is to allow the club to sell Tynecastle in order to cover Hearts’s multi-million pound debt.

Despite the fan protests, the move to Murrayfield seems destined to go ahead at the start of next season.
