Ancona battle against relegation has received a major setback with the news that recent loan signning Maguns Hedman will be out for up to six weeks after undergoingg surgery on his knee.

Bottom of Serie A, Ancona, have picked up just six points this season and Hedman’s absence will certainly not help their cause.

‘Hopefully, I will be back in three to five weeks,’ Hedman told Sportbladet.

‘It should not take more than five weeks even in the worst scenario.

‘I will still be able to train, but you never know, it is hard to tell from the X-ray how serious the injury is.

‘If I get sidelined for longer, it will be hard to get back in shape for the European Championship.’

‘I don’t know how many times I have had surgery in the last 18 months. How much bad luck can you have?’
