Chelsea are believed to have joined Arsenal in the chase for Stuttgart midfielder Aleksander Hleb.
Arsenal’s have been linked with Hleb, 24, for several months but their assessment of the player falls short of Stuttgart’s valuation.
“Arsenal and VfB are continuing their negotiations,” his representative Nikolai Spilevski stated.
“Chelsea are also genuinely interested, however Arsenal have priority as Arsene Wenger has been dreaming of having Alexander in his team for two years now.”
Hleb has scored 13 goals in 137 Bundesliga appearances for Stuttgart, and has won 10 caps for Belarus.
