Hungary have reappointed Peter Varhidi as national team coach.
The 49-year-old was a surprise choice after Hungarian Football Association president Istvan Kisteleki suggestedthat he wanted a foreigner to replace Varhidi whose contract ended in December.
“Varhidi was the board’s only candidate,” Kisteleki told a news conference.
“He has our trust and so takes charge again as coach. We’ll keep searching for a development director, whom I prefer to be a foreigner but who could also be coach later.”
