Bolton striker Mario Jardel has joined Serie A strugglers Ancona.
The Brazilian, who joined moved to Bolton from Sporting Lisbon in August, has struggled to make an impression at the Reebok.
In a statement on the Ancona website, the club confirmed there was a possibility of a permanent move for the player.
Last week, Bolton rejected a bid from Espanyol for the striker, who has looked overweight since arriving in England and failed to start a Premiership match.
Jardel was Europe’s leading scorer in 1998 and 1999 when playing for Porto.
