Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp does not plan to dip into the transfer market for a last minute trolley dash despite the club’s congested fixture list. However he did not completely rule out the possibility of bringing a fresh face in.

Liverpool have already played eight times already in 2016, and Klopp was forced to make 10 changes to the side that physically and mentally exerted themselves against Stoke in the Carling Cup.

With the FA Cup tie versus West Ham ended in a stalemate yesterday, Liverpool will have to endure playing another fixture.

This game, coupled with the Europa League recommencing next month may force Klopp to sign another player, however he was seemingly happy to wait and see:

“It should not be the reason [to sign players], one game more,” Klopp told Liverpool’s website.

“Since the last game against West Ham, we have had three or four games more. But we could rest the team that played against Stoke.

“They had today off and that’s good, so we will again have fresh legs against Leicester. That’s the good news. In this moment the draw doesn’t feel too brilliant, but when we go to West Ham, we will see the chance to go into the next round again.

Alex Teixeira

The valuation of Alex Teixeira is far apart at present

“It’s an intensive time. Hopefully, one player or other will come back from injury in the next few weeks and then we’ll have enough players.

“For what happens in the transfer market, you have to wait in the next 48 hours and we will see if something happens or not.”

Liverpool have been heavily linked to Brazilian Alex Teixeira, however the valuation of the player from both clubs seems far off – meaning a deal may have to wait till the summer.
