England top their qualifying group after beating Switzerland 3-1 in Basle, but what price are they to win Euro 2012 now?

Former Mexico coach Ricardo La Volpe is set to be appointed the new coach of Costa Rica.

The 58-year-old Argentinian led Mexico to the second round of the 2006 World Cup in Germany and is expected to sign a four-year deal with the Costa Rican Football Federation in San Jose on Thursday.

“I’m ready,” La Volpe told Mexican football website Mediotiempo.com adding that he had handed over all the paperwork to Costa Rican federation authorities on Tuesday.

La Volpe, who has previously coached Boca Juniors in his home country as well as several Mexican clubs, said his biggest challenge would be qualifying Costa Rica for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
