Arsenal goalkeeper Jens Lehmann has been fined by the FA and warned about his future behaviour after being found guilty of improper conduct.

Lehmann and Southampton striker Kevin Phillips were both charged with improper conduct.

Referee Steve Dunn mentioned an incident after the final whistle involving the players in his match report.

In the Premiership clash at St Mary’s in December Lehmann was spotted throwing the ball at the back of Phillip’s head.

The German, who also received a warning over his future conduct, claimed Phillips had earlier stood on his hand.

The former Sunderland player has decided to appeal against his charge and will present supporting video evidence.
