Sporting Lisbon winger Nani, who has been the subject of intense transfer speculation in recent months, has penned a new contract with the Portuguese club.

Manchester United and Atletico Madrid have been linked with the 20-year-old, but Sporting have thrashed out a new deal that has seen his buy-out clause rise to €30m.

That figure may even deter interest from United who were reported to have been close to a €25m deal.

The new deal signed by Nani is a six-year contract that will keep him at the club until 2013.

Nani has made no secret that he would like to play alongside Cristiano Ronaldo, who also came through the Sporting youth system.
