Neymar confirmed that he wants to be a member of Brazil’s 2016 Olympic squad.

The manager of Brazil’s Olympic team, Alexandre Gallo, has already said he hopes to include Neymar as one of his three permitted ’23 or over’ players.

“I hope to be a part of the national setup and to conquer the title for the Brazilians, especially given that we’re playing at home,” he said. “Everything serves as a lesson. If Brazil are still yet to conquer this dream, then maybe our time never truly arrived perhaps. People can rest assured that we will give our absolute best to achieve it now though.”

Neymar also added that representing his country is always an ‘indescribable’ moment and that having the chance to do so in Brazil for the Olympic Games will be a ‘dream’ in every sense. It would certainly help erase the nightmare that was last summer’s World Cup

“Wearing the Brazilian shirt is always something indescribable and it always gives me incredible memories,” he added. “I will remember my first Olympic Games in London for the rest of my life.

Neymar was a member of the Brazil squad that won silver at the London 2012 Olympic Games.

“Now I can already imagine what it will be like to play in them in my own country. Being a part of the 2016 games would be a realised dream,” he said. “I’ve played in the World Cup and the Confederations Cup in Brazil, now I’m just missing the Olympic Games. It would be a great joy to participate in it.”
