Sampdoria are hoping to SEAL a deal with Real Madrid to retain on-loan forward Antonio Cassano.
The Italian international is spending the season with Sampdoria and has scored seven goals in 16 Serie A appearances, and after struggling to make an impact in Spain, he is keen to stay with Samp.
Real have yet to make a decision on whether to allow Cassano to stay in Italy, although Sampdoria sporting director Giuseppe Marotta is optmistic.
“We must be cautious,” Marotta told the Italian press.
“We want to continue with Cassano and Cassano wants to continue with us. There are also no problems with his agent.
“The only obstacle to overcome is Real Madrid. Anyway, we have time until 10th June.”
