Brazil’s World Cup winning coach Luis Felipe Scolari has revealed he is set to be employed by Arsenal in a consultancy role.

The contract will see Scolari, a former coach at Gremio and Cruzeiro, bring his wealth of knowledge and experience to bear at Highbury, while helping the club scout in South America. Arsenal already have two Brazilian players on their books in Edu and of course Gilberto Silva who was an integral part of Brazil’s World Cup winning squad.

Scolari quit his post as coach of Brazil in the summer despite success in Japan and South Korea.

“Arsene Wenger has invited me personally in an official capacity,” Scolari told the s.

“I am very honoured. I think this role will be very productive for both parties.

“Being close to Arsene means working with one of the greatest managers in the worldand one day, I too would like to manage a top Premiership side.”
