Siena president Paolo De Luca was relieved to emerge unscathed after his car was attacked by hundreds of Fiorentina fans following their 2-0 win over Siena.

“They fortunately didn’t manage to massacre us, but hundreds of them tried,” he said after the ordeal.

“Our car had just left the stadium when we were firstly insulted and then circled by hundreds of fans, who then started to kick our vehicle.

“I wound down the window and was ready to get out, but I was fortunately stopped by my fellow passengers.

“These people make me sick, they deserve prison.”

De Luca was finally escorted to safety by local police.
