Serbia and Montenegro international midfielder Dejan Stankovic is on the brink of a move from Lazio to Inter.
The 25-year-old future at Lazio has been in doubt since talks over a new contract broke down. Now, a move to Inter looks only a matter of days away.
“The transfer is not far off,” Lazio president Ugo Longo told Gazzetta dello Sport.
“I met (Inter president Giacinto) Facchetti this morning and we’re moving in the right direction. There are still a few details to be sorted out.”
Stankovic’s current deal expires in June and the financially-stricken Serie A club would rather sell now than lose the player for nothing at the end of the season.
