Swedish international left back, Erik Edman has completed his move to Tottenham Hotspur, for an as-yet undisclosed fee from Dutch side Heerenveen.

The signing of the Swede, capped 25 times by his country, could well mark the end end of Maricio Tarrico’s career at the North-London club.

Edman becomes the fourth major signing for Spurs since the new management regime took over.

Sporting Director, Frank Arnesen told the club’s website: “You need to get a balance to the squad and, little by little, we are doing that… it will be no problem for Erik to adapt.

“He speaks the language – like Pedro [Mendes] – and this helps you to fit in quickly. I am very happy with the signing.”

Arnesen knows 25 -year-old Edman well from his time in Holland with PSV Eindhoven.
