Giuseppe Rossi has signed for Villarreal after being informed by Manchester United that he would have few first team opportunities at Old Trafford next season.
The Italian striker spent the second half of last season on loan at Parma and he impressed during his spell.
Villarreal have paid an undisclosed fee for the forward with the player expected to complete his move later in the week.
Rossi will help fill the void left by the departure of Diego Forlan, who joined Atletic Madrid last month.
