West Ham have dismissed reports linking them with a move for Arsenal mifielder Freddie Ljungberg.

Ljungberg’s future at Arsenal has been the subject of speculation in the last few days, with several reports claiming Arsene Wenger is looking to offload him in the January transfer window.

Reports on Tuesday claimed West Ham were interested in the Swede, but West Ham chairman Eggert Magnusson was quick to dismiss the speculation.

“We have not made an enquiry about Freddie Ljungberg,” said Magnusson.

“The English press have been very busy linking us with players – but this is not true.”

According to reports in Italy, Internazionale are intersted in signing Ljungberg.

Ljungberg’s agent Roger Lung refused to be drawn on the speculation, saying: “I have no comments, you would have to ask Arsenal.”
