France international striker Steve Marlet has admitted that he may quit Fulham, if the club’s coach Jean Tigana resigns at the end of the season.
“I’m going to be with Fulham until the end of the season but obviously if Tigana leaves a lot of French players are going to follow him,” Marlet said, ahead of France’s international friendly against the Czech Republic on Wednesday.
Fulham have struggled this season, increasing speculation that Tigana may quit the club in the summer.
“I think our future is linked to his (Tigana’s) own,” admitted Marlet.
“Things are not going too well there at the moment. The atmosphere is not great and the situation is not that easy.The staff and the players don’t know much about their future,” Marlet added.
Marlet, who has endured a difficult season to date, admits he is enjoying the opportunity to get away from the daily travails at Fulham.
“Coming here to Clairefontaine is a relief for me. Being called up for an international match helps me to forget about what is going on at the club.
“I can take a breath. The atmosphere is completely different.”
