Johnnier Montano, the Colombian midfielder has at last returned to Italy after failing to report back from a winter break in Colombia.
Montano is claiming that serious threats required him to stay in his homeland longer.
“I know that I’ve made a mistake but I had a few family problems,” he said.
“I was threatened by certain people back home. I’ve had similar incidents in the past but this time they were serious. I’ve a big family and in that part of the world they would do anything for a dollar.”
Piacenza are unlikely to have much sympathy for a player who originally excused his extended absence with a leg injury. They will probably send him back to Parma, from where he was signed on loan.
