Recently apppointed Celta Vigoo coach, Raddy Antic, has played down reports linking him with the vacancy at Tottenham.

Antic has been linked with post after caretaker boss David Pleat said an appointment was “done and dusted.” But ANtic, who played under Pleat at Luton, denies the rumour.

“I have not spoken to Tottenham,’ he said.

“I am not saying that I would not be interested, but at the moment I am concentrating on coaching Celta Vigo.”

Antic was appointed by the struggling Galician club two weeks ago, but his contract only runs until the end of the season.

Pleat also refused to confirm Antic’s appointment, although he did not rule out thepossibility of the former Atletico Madrid boss moving to White Hart Lane.

“We don’t want to jeopardise or upset in any way the current working conditions of the gentleman,’ he told BBC radio.

‘I hope this one doesn’t happen.

“The speculation has to continue and whirl around. We can’t prevent that.”

“We’ve always stated quite clearly that our supporters will be first to know and we’ve told them when it will be (the end of the season) and nothing has changed.

“Obviously I know Raddy Antic and probably people are putting two and two together and maybe coming up with the wrong answer or maybe coming up with the right answer.

“It’s speculation. Raddy is a person who is a gentleman and he has proved himself very effective in the roles he’s had.”
