Bastia coach Francois Ciccolini has been banned from the touchline for two matches after he made racist remarks at Paris St Germain’s Albanian midfielder Lorik Cana.

Saturday’s game between PSG and Bastia was played behind closed doors, allowing television viewers to hear Ciccolini abusing Cana.

“Following remarks made by the Corsican coach against Parisian player Lorik Cana, the disciplinary committee decided to ban Francois Ciccolini from the pitch for two matches,” the French Professional League (LFP) said in a statement.

“The committee took into account Francois Ciccolini’s apologies and regrets, and the fact that Lorik Cana considered the incident over.”
