New Roma coach Bruno Conti has stressed that his appointment is only temporary, and set out his plans for the remainder of the season.

The 1982 World Cup winner was appointed as Roma coach until the end of the season, following the departure of Luigi Delneri.

“Mine is a short term change,” said Conti.

“At the end of the season I’ll return to the youth section because this is my role.

“I told the guys that they must put apart the personal problems.

“I couldn’t say no to Roma in this particular moment, anyway mine has been a choice made with the club.

“Our aims? Coppa Italia and [UEFA] Champions League qualification.”
