Chelsea’s preparations for their Champions League smie-final tie against Monaco, received a a setback with the news that Damien Duff and William Gallas are ruled out through injury.
Duff has been in fine form in an injury-hit season while Gallas has establishedhimself as a first choice defender this term. right-back or centre-back. Gallas absence means Marcel Desailly will partner Terry in central defence.
Better news for the Blues comes from striker Eidur Gudjohnsen and defender John Terry, both of whom have been passed fit for Tuesday’s first-leg tie.
Monaco are without defender Sebastien Squillaci, who has not recovered from a thigh injury.
