Dynamo Kyiv have been awarded a 3-0 win over Roma after the abandonment of their Champions League match when the referee was hit by an object thrown from the crowd in Rome.

Moreover, Roma will have to play their next two European games behind closed doors, UEFA said in a statement.

Referee Anders Frisk was struck by a missile thrown from the stands and injured as the game reached half-time, and the match was eventually abandoned.

Kiev were leading the Group B match 1-0 at the time.

Meanwhile, Roma defender Philippe Mexes has been suspended for two matches “for particularly unsporting conduct”, UEFA said.

Roma have until Friday midnight (2200 GMT) to appeal against the decision.
