Everton have completed the signing of Andy van der Meyde from Internazionale.

The Dutch international signed a four-year deal at Goodison on Wednesday after completing his medical.

He becomes the club’s third in the space of five days following the arrival of Matteo Ferrari from Roma and Nuno Valente from Porto.

The 25-year-old former Ajax midfielder is currently recovering from a groin strain but is set to make his Premiership debut before the end of September.

“I am very happy today,” he told evertonfc.com. “I am happy I can play for Everton because it is such a nice club and I hope I can show my football again because it has been a long time for me.

“I really want to do some nice things here. I believe in the team and the club and the trainer and I believe it will be a good year for us.

“In the last few years the club has been getting better every year and I am happy I can play for Everton.”
