It was a weekend of shame for Greek football as hooliganism reared its ugly and unwanted head.

Police had to use tear gas to break-up fighting between Olympiakos and AEK Athens supporters. The incident happened in the port of Piraeus as AEK supports were boarding a boat to Crete for their game against OFI.

Olympiakos supporters also caused trouble at their match against Aris Thessaloniki. Seats were broken and used as projectiles, as rival supporters hurled them at each other.

A TV reporter was injured in the violence and police made several arrests.
