Lazio and Sampdoria have agreed to swap strikers Simone Inzaghi and Fabio Bazzani in a loan deal that will run until the end of the season.

The 28-year-old Bazzani has scored only twice this season, while Inzaghi has played just 12 times for Lazio, being used mostly as a substitute.

Bazzani, capped three times by Italy, said: “I watched Lazio’s game against Fiorentina yesterday and they looked a very organised side.

“I’m sure we can improve the situation in the league.”

Lazio, who have won their last two games since appointing Giuseppe Papadopulo as coach, are in ninth place in Serie A, four points behind Sampdoria in fifth.
