Premier League leaders, Man Utd, can go back to the top of the table with a win over Pompey tonight.

Afshin Qotbi has been appointed the new national coach of Iran, replacing the coach who lasted two weeks.

Qotbi takes over a day after Mohammad Mayely-Kohan following a dispute with another coach, state television reported.

The 55-year-old Mayely-Kohan had replaced former Iran star Ali Daei this month after the team’s loss to Saudi Arabia in a World Cup qualifier.

Qotbi coached Iranian club Piroozi last year.

Iran lie fourth in the five-team Group B of Asian World Cup qualifying, with six points from five games. South Korea lead the group with 11 points, one point ahead of North Korea and Saudi Arabia.
