Germany coach Jurgen Klinsmann has admitted he welcome Berti Vogts into his national team set-up in time for the 2006 World Cup.

German media reported on Tuesday that Vogts, who quit as Scotland coach last November, was being lined up for a scouting role for the national side.

“If we had the chance to bring him in it would be very positive,” Klinsmann said.

“He has know-how and technical knowledge and is an expert on world football.

“We’d have to see about what position it would be.”

Vogts coached Germany to the 1996 European Championship, where amomg otehrs he coached Klinsmann and his current assistant Oliver Bierhoff.

“If there is interest I will sit down with Klinsmann and Bierhoff,” Vogts told newspaper tz.

“They were both my players. It’s something we can talk about.”
