Manchester United supporters’ groups have called for fans to boycott Saturday’s home game against West Brom.

The ‘Not For Sale Coalition’is stepping up its campaign against Malcolm Glazer’s takeover bid.

“We know it’s asking a lot for people not to use their tickets, but we have got to take a stand,” said a spokesman.

“This is the last Saturday matchday opportunity for supporters to let any potential new owners and the current board know that supporters’ loyalty can not be taken for granted.”

Supporters have been asked to join a protest march to the stadium 45 minutes before kick-off.

US businessman Glazer, who has been involved in protracted talks to buy the club, has been given a 17 May deadline by the Takeover Panel to confirm whether he intends to proceed with his bid.
