Siena have appointed Andrea Mandorlini as their new coach.

Mandorlini, 47, replaces Mario Beretta who stepped down at the end of last season after guiding them to a 15th-place finish.

Mandorlini’s only previous Serie A experience was a brief stint at Atalanta during the 2003-04 season, which concluded with him being fired.

More recently, he was in charge of Serie C side Padova, where he led the struggling outfit to a place in the promotion play-offs.
