Italy defender Alessandro Nesta will miss Saturday’s World Cup qualifier against Scotland because of a foot injury.
Nesta missed his club Milan’s win at Roma on Sunday due to a gash to his right foot but was selected in a 23-man squad by Lippi.
However, after being examined, the central defender was allowed to return to his club.
Juve’s Fabio Cannavaro will now be partnered by his former Inter team mate Marco Materazzi.
