Rangers have clinched the signing of United States winger DaMarcus Beasley from PSV Eindhoven.

The 25-year-old, who enjoyed had an injury-hit loan spell at Premiership outfit Manchester City, has signed a three-year contract.

The former Chicago Fire player cost PSV approximately $3 million in 2004.

The American is Rangers’ fifth signing of the summer following the arrivals of Jean-Claude Darcheville, Alan Gow, Kirk Broadfoot and Graeme Smith.

Meanwhile, Rangers defender Karl Svensson has signed for newly-promoted French Ligue 1 club Caen.

The 23-year-old Swedish international moved to Ibrox last May from IFK Gothenburg, but failed to establish himself in the first-team.
