Chelsea midfielder Emmanuel Petit claims Stamford Bridge boss Claudio Ranieri has told the players that he will be leaving Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.

The former France international said he will follow the Italian in leaving club.

“I’d have loved to stay here at Chelsea and in London. Yes, that was my original plan and my desire,” he told the Daily Mail newspaper.

“But since my coach is not staying, I’m not interested in staying myself.”

Meanwhile, Boudewijn Zenden said he hopes to return to Chelsea when his loan spell with Middlesbrough expires at the end of the season. “I’ve never given up hope of returning,” he told the Daily Mail.
