Nottingham Forest winger Andy Reid has today submitted a written transfer request, fuelling speculation that he may be set for a move to Tottenham.

The Republic of Ireland international has long been linked with a move away from the City Ground, with White Hart Lane the likely destination.

Spurs originally bid £5m for Reid during last January’s transfer window, but the bid did not match Forest’s valuation of the player.

Earlier in the summer, Tottenham returned a reduced £3m offer. However, it now looks like a deal of around £5m will be accepted by Forest.

Reid would be keen to join his Irish teammates Robbie Keane and Stephen Carr at the Tottenham, and the Premiership club will be looking to push a deal through as quickly as possible.
