German referee Dominik Marks has been arrested on suspicion of fraud for fixing three matches in late 2004, prosecutors have revealed.
A spokesman for the Berlin state prosecutors office said the arrest was based on “credible information provided by Robert Hoyzer that was supported by other objective evidence”.
Hoyzer, who is at the centre of the scandal after he admitted fixing matches in exchange for money from a gambling syndicate, is cooperating with prosecutors.
